What are the Benefits?
A cost-effective and simple to install non-invasive system, the Ecomix BFS achieves substantial and consistent financial benefits as well as improvements to the environment. It can retrofit any size diesel engine.
fuel bill savings of around 20%
Put simply, the system enables diesel engines to operate more efficiently. The LPG works as a catalyst, improving the burn rate of diesel from 75% to a typical rate of 98%. This improved fuel efficiency results in fuel bill savings of around 20%.
With less particulate matter passing the piston rings, engine lubricant holds its viscosity longer. This means extended time/kms between oil changes and extended engine life. A significant reduction in glazing on cylinder walls has also been recorded, due to less unburnt fuel passing the piston rings and flushing the bore.
Decoking of pistons, inlet ports and exhaust valves can occur when a diesel engine operates with LPG. There has also been evidence of improved oil usage between services.
In addition, improved combustion requires a reduced amount of diesel to produce the equivalent torque. And this in turn means better vehicle drivability and reduced driver fatigue. That’s because the improved engine torque curve means drivers need to make fewer gear changes.
